Rev. Darlene Edgley

President

Rev. Edgley has spent more than thirty years providing development and strategic planning services to secure and leverage resources for non-profits and public agencies across California. Her professional portfolio includes serving as the President/CEO of Instant Recess® (founded by the late Dr. Antronette Toni Yancey), executing major fundraising initiatives for Caring for Children & Families with AIDS as the Director of Development, and offering her services to strengthen financial resources and funding streams for community-based events and programming including, Mujeres Unidas y Activas and Youth

Opportunities Unlimited Inc. Additionally, Rev. Edgley has served as a presenter and facilitator at health forums, such as the UCLA Minority Training Program in Cancer Center Research and USC’s Cancer Survivorship Best Practices Conference.

Rev. Edgley is committed to stewarding the work of Dr. Antronette (Toni) Yancey through the Yancey/Edgley Fellowship by promoting and supporting the next generation of practitioners and professionals addressing obesity and related chronic diseases through small bouts of physical activity in underserved communities.

Kanitra Strong

Development Director

Kanitra Strong received her B.A. from Vassar College and pursued her M.A. at the University of Chicago in Social Science. She has successfully developed, directed and enhanced a variety of fundraising and communications programs for over 15 years in Los Angeles and Chicago. She has worked with large cultural institutions, such as the Lincoln Park Zoo in addition to social service agencies like the YWCA Central Orange County.
